1950s deco-style, WORKING, goldtone, cocktail bracelet-watch with green and clear rhinestones. Swiss made. 17 Jewels.
Art Deco style gold-plated, peek-a-boo watch cleverly disguised as a bejewelled bangle. The watch covering features a sunburst pattern and one large, round emerald green rhinestone, surrounded by eight small clear, round rhinestones, the centre plate is flanked by six more clear and green rhinestones. The diamante-covered plate opens on a print-loaded hinge to reveal a cream faceplate. Hinged opening makes it easy to slip on.
The watch works intermittently and may need to be serviced to keep reliable time.
Cream-coloured watch face reads: Lucerne/17 Jewels/Swiss Made; back of watch reads: Fond Acier Inoxydable [Stainless Steel Back]/Swiss Made.
There is very little wear to this piece—the goldtone is in good condition and all rhinestones are present; all hinges are tight; the only flaw is the safety chain is absent, but this could very easily be replaced.
Measures approximately: 2” x 1.5” internal oval diameter; centrepiece has 3/4” diameter; band is 1/4” wide.
